Inspired by musings of Friedrich Hölderlin and Martin Heidegger, the Tek-Matic loom marries contemporary craft (electronics and digital fabrication) with tablet weaving, one of the earliest methods of weaving by hand. My hope is to equalize the two. By contextualizing an ancient tradition with modern technology, I aim to fetch original craft practice back into its essence — a state of lasting being.
